The Paris Hilton Flip!

Gotta love Paris- girl gets around, and now there is an FMX trick named after her! But, with a name like Paris Hilton or not, you can only be amazed at how far action sports has come along. When you have watched this video and realize that in 13 short years it has gone from Carey Hart doing the first double backflip ever to what you see in the clip. So, here are some of my favourite defining moments in the fast forward evolution of action sports. The question is, where do we go to now?

First backflip:

First 900 air:

BMX first triple backflip:

Danny Macaskill

Travis Pastrana jumping a car 269ft:

Tanner Foust jumping a 4 wheel drive:

Where the trail ends….

This has to be the ultimate in taking your sport to the absolute maximum. A bunch of MTB downhill riders exploring the continent looking for the ultimate ride. Feeling they had maximised the challenges of backyard Utah, these guys study satellite maps on Google Earth, finding the gnarliest contours, and working from there. The journey takes them to the most far flung places on earth, and the beauty of it is a. Red Bull pay for the whole thing and b. a stunning piece of visual genius. Downhill has become the quickest growing action sport in the world, and has been modified over the years to suit the terrains and the rider. This video brings all of that along nicely. Red Bull continue to prove themselves across the action sports market by producing epic documentaries such as this. Highly recommended!
