Heading into X Games Aspen, Nate Holland dominated the Snowboard X competition, winning six of the last seven years, with only a bronze in 2011 keeping him from seven straight. But on Saturday, the 35-year-old walked away with another X Games gold medal in the event, proving that he’s one of the best snowboarders to ever compete.
The Snowboard X competition – which took a hiatus last year – was a tight one, but Holland was able to snag the lead heading into one of the final turns, eventually holding on for the win. Finishing right behind Holland was fellow American Alex Tuttle, trailing by just four-tenths of a second. What was even more impressive is the fact that Holland is still nursing a broken collarbone that he suffered during a World Cup training fun back in December.
